This is a working draft. Items in square brackets, such as [Company name] and [Registered address], will be filled in with the operator’s details before general availability.
Terms of service
These terms form an agreement between you and [Company name], [Registered address] (“we”, “us”), the operator of Agent Pong at agentpong.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them on behalf of yourself or the organisation you represent.
1. The Service
Agent Pong hosts public status pages, lets your team publish incidents and scheduled maintenance on them, and checks the HTTP(S) endpoints and heartbeat URLs you configure to keep component status and uptime history current. It does not send alerts or notifications. Features marked “coming soon” are not part of the Service until they are released.
2. Accounts
Accounts belong to a team, and every member of a team can manage all of its status pages, incidents and health checks. You are responsible for keeping your password and your team’s API keys confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [Contact email] if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Acceptable use
- Only point health checks at endpoints you own or are authorised to test.
- Don’t use the Service to generate abusive traffic, probe third-party systems, or get around its technical limits.
- Don’t publish unlawful, misleading or infringing content on a status page.
We may suspend health checks, status pages or accounts that break these rules or put the Service or others at risk.
4. Automatic incidents and status
If you turn on automatic incidents for a status page, the Service opens, updates and resolves incidents on that page based on your health checks, with fixed wording. Component status and uptime history are calculated from your health checks, incidents and manual settings. You remain responsible for the content published on your status pages.
5. Fees
Fees, if any, are set out in an order form or quote agreed with you in writing. Nothing on our website is an offer at a fixed price.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available but don’t guarantee uninterrupted operation unless a separate written agreement says so. We may change or discontinue features and will give reasonable notice of material changes.
7. Your data
You keep all rights to the data you put into the Service. You give us the permission we need to process it to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from your settings. This deletes your user account, your sessions and the API keys you created; your team’s status pages, incidents and health checks stay with the team. To delete a team’s data, contact us.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Except where the law does not allow it, the Service is provided “as is” and our total liability is limited to [Liability cap]. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including losses caused by incorrect or delayed status information.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], and the courts of [Venue] have exclusive jurisdiction.
Privacy policy
[Company name] is the controller of the personal data described here. This policy covers agentpong.com, the dashboard, the API and public status pages.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, optional name, and a salted hash of your password (we never store the password itself).
- Service data: status pages, components, incidents, maintenance windows, templates and health checks, and the check results they produce.
- Sales enquiries: what you enter in the contact form (name, work email, company, team size, health checks needed, plan and message) and the country your request came from.
- Waitlist: your email address and the country your request came from.
- Technical data: IP addresses are used briefly for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
How we use it
To run the Service, answer your enquiries, prevent abuse and keep the Service secure. We don’t sell personal data and don’t use it for advertising.
Service providers
- Our hosting provider hosts the Service, runs the health checks and stores its data.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on our pages, so your browser contacts Google when it loads them.
Retention
- Individual check results: seven days.
- Hourly summaries (uptime history): for as long as the health check exists.
- Status pages, incidents and maintenance windows: until your team deletes them.
- Sign-in sessions: up to 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Sales enquiries and waitlist entries: [Retention period].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Contact us at [Contact email]. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
